El DRAE lo ha castellanizado como "espónsor", aunque también recoge "sponsor" en cursiva pero es innecesario el uso de este término inglés, ya que existe en castellano la palabra "patrocinador" con el mismo significado. El DRAE igualmente ha admitido "esponsorización" y "esponsorizar".
